We need a Cure STAT for health care in America, Profit Care comes ahead of Patient Care. In East Tennessee "horrifying" care is quite "acceptable" care. Google wisecountyissues.com and see what the health care system in East Tennessee calls acceptable standards.

In the 1960s I read a science fiction short story in which the main character was a man who had what would now be called the Truman syndrome. In the course of the story, he was finally convinced that the world around him and the people in it were real and going about their everyday lives. Of course, the last line of the story was the unseen director saying, "Okay, strike Harvard Yard!" And the conceit may go back much farther--remember Shakespeare's line, "All the world's a stage/and the people merely players"? By sheer coincidence, I was reading a book yesterday night (Sophie's World, a philosophy reader for high school students) that noted that this world view was quite common in Shakespeare's era.
Wow great article. I suffer from this or should I say suffered from this. I am a recoverying drug addict an alcoholic Ive been sober almost a year and a half but anyways I almost positive it was meth induced but I thought I was getting video taped by MTV and that I was on my own reality tv show with hidded camera. Heres the kicker I thought everyone knew about it my friends, family, celebritys everybody but knowone could tell me cause if they told me I wouldnt get the "million dollars" at the end of the show. I lived my life thinking that for over 6 months it was horrible. Even in sobriety i still thought I might be getting video taped but eventually it went away. Its alot deeper than that but anyhow, I can relate. How funny! Im not the only one ahahahaha.
