An abandoned humpback whale calf that has been trying to suckle from boats in the waters off north Sydney has rebuffed fresh attempts by wildlife workers to return it to the open ocean.
Why don't they use the artificial teat to strengthen the baby whale, rather than trying nothing at all. Perhaps the baby whale will get stronger with some nourishment and the wildlife rescuers will have a better chance of getting it back to the open ocean. I can't bear to see them give up on that little baby whale. Whales have been transferred by boat in a sling also. Anything is worth a try at this point.
It seems to me that "they" waste enough money on other more useless things, why not at least TRY to create an artificial teat and TRY to feed the calf? Come on, we put a man on the moon, for God's sake, how hard can it be to make a teat to feed this poor creature?
