Both bullies and their victims are at risk for problems that threaten their health, safety and education - but the bullies themselves may be more affected, a new study suggests.
I myself am a victim of this social problem we call bullying. I grew up in the eighties and from my early years in grammar school I can remember kids as young as 10 being influenced by local street gangs.
The symptoms mentioned in the article are so true. I can remember the similarities of the young boys who participated in the bullying. There seemed to be a need for most if not all to fit in with the crowd. If you happened to be Latino & growing up in a low income community the crowd most likely were the tuff kids.
School was not a priority for them. Today many have grown up and are in their thirties with low wage paying jobs, many sick from their diets, drug abuse, homeless or are dying of aids. I speak of true cases that I know or known of from the same community that I grew up in. It seemed destined to destroy itself.
I was a victim of bullies. My life took its turns and I would be lying if I said that what was mentioned about the victims was not true. I had to break out of this social cage. Today I am a mid-level Graphic Designer and work for a good company. I appreciate life very much these days.
Oh shut up, the big bad bullies face more health risks than victims. They inflict their own sorrow, sure would like to see the baseball bat or the bullet added to their lists of self infliction.
This is one of those times where after reading something I really want to yell "WHAT THE F..."! Please tell me that I didn't just read this and the people that wrote this didn't really do a study. You don't need a study to know bullies are cowards and in an effort to pretend there not they lash out. There emotionally immature, angry with themselves, and have no self esteem. For them to learn that they didn't need a study. Next time (if anyone on the study is reading this) save yourself some time. It's easy write me a check for the money being used for the study and then call me. You'll have all the info you need in a 30 minute call to justify your case.
